Our Story
Built by People Who Live It
Michael rode rodeo in college, served as a United States Marine, and spent years as a police officer. Three back surgeries later, on the long recovery walks his doctor ordered, he told Michelle he was bored. She bought him a kit camera from Sam's Club. He has been photographing this country and its people ever since.
They opened The Cowboy Emporium after spotting a rent sign in downtown Cheyenne. The idea was simple. Western fine art lives in museums. Handmade cowboy gear turns up at seasonal markets. There was nowhere the two stood together, and no reason a working cowboy should feel out of place in either room.
First Look
New pieces reach this list before they reach the floor. Meet-the-artist nights, show dates, and the occasional story from the shop. About twice a month. That's it.
